Clemens Aigner has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS), the world’s largest society dedicated to thoracic surgery.
Founded in 1993, ESTS is the world’s largest exclusively thoracic surgical organization, with around 2,000 members from 91 countries. The society operates the largest thoracic surgery database and a European clinical trials platform.

Aigner has been actively involved in the ESTSfor many years and has now been elected to the leadership role of Director. With more than 250 publications, international experience, and scientific expertise in thoracic oncology, functional thoracic surgery, and lung transplantation, he will contribute to shaping the further development of ESTS.
