The diagnosis and treatment of patients with lung cancer have undergone tremendous changes in the last years. Recent advances in screening, imaging, tissue diagnostics, and bronchoscopic techniques aim to achieve a stage shift through earlier diagnosis and improved overall survival rates. Advances in surgical techniques and radiation oncology, together with routine implementation of immunotherapy and targeted therapies in the curative stages of lung cancer, have led to enhanced individualized treatment options and improved outcomes in survival rates and quality of life.
This two-day clinical observership program intends to provide a comprehensive overview of all relevant topics in the field and allow detailed insights into practical aspects of patient pathways, decision making, and available facilities at the Medical University of Vienna.
Looking forward to an interesting and exciting clinical immersion!
