Operating room
The operating rooms of the University Department of Thoracic Surgery are located on level 9. The equipment of the ORs is on the latest international level. Maximally invasive procedures on the heart-lung machine/ECMO, but also minimally invasive procedures including video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), robotic surgery, laser surgery as well as isolated lung perfusions can be performed.
Bed ward 17E
The ward of the University Department of Thoracic Surgery is located on level 17 in the green bed tower and comprises 23 beds. All rooms are fully air-conditioned and have radio, television, telephone and internet connection. Bed occupancy is limited to a maximum of 3 per room. 1- or 2-bed rooms are available for special class patients. Furthermore, insulated wet cells or showers and toilets, as well as a ward bathroom suitable for the disabled are available.
Interventional room 7C
For minor surgical as well as bronchoscopic procedures, the Department of Thoracic Surgery has a procedure room on level 7C.
Outpatient clinic 7B
The outpatient clinic of the department is located on level 7, at "Leitstelle 7B". Outpatient care is provided here daily between 8:00 and 15:00.
Intensive care units
The intensive medical care of the patients treated by the Department of Thoracic Surgery takes place in cooperation with the various intensive care units of the Vienna General Hospital.
